Ekagra Academy provides coaching for ssc in DelhiTake a glimpse—

Squaring of complex numbers

Government exams do not allow calculators, hence, squaring is consider as a time-consuming activity. However, it cannot be avoided while solving questions. Here’s a simple trick to easily find square of any number (irrespective of digits). Here is how: add the last digit one time multiply it to the subtraction of last digit from main digit and add square of last digit. Practical: assume we are demanded to find.
=(129)^2 = (129+9) * (129-9) + (9*9)
=138*120+81
=16641

Multiplication with number 99

It is very common trick, however quite useful. Assume if you are given: 43*99. Simply multiply 43*100 and less 43 from the resulted number. See practical:
(43*100)-43 = 4300-43= 4257.

Easy Compound Interest calculation

Formula of compound interest is equals to Rate^n% multiply by the principal, where n is number of years/time. Hence, learn a simply formula for R^2= 2r|r^2. Similarly, for R^3% use 3r|3r^2|r^3.
Further add two digits, i.e., on the left and the right of “|” and put a decimal in place of “|”. For instance, R^2 = 28|196 = 29.96. Simply multiply the resulted digit to the principal amount.

Complex multiplication

Assume we need to find (130*22). Calculate like this: Simplify it as (130*2) = 260, add another zero to resulted digit: 2600. Now add the double of first digit (130) to it. 2600 + 260 = 2860. If it was (130*23), we would have added the triple of 130 to 2600.
Note: students must practice these tricks enough that they are not required to use paper. Indeed, writing down these tricks and then solving only makes the question more complex and make time management to suffer.
